hey everyone, it's been a while. is anyone still using this module? the rtorrent and libtorrent build is a little out of date. it still works in its current state, but some of us like to keep up with the times. getmythe used to compile it, but doesn't any longer, so, is anyone up to compiling the latest version (12.2/8.2 - libtorrent.rakshasa.no)? then with getmythes permission we can release an update. www.onbeat.dk/thecus/index.php/N2100_Module:_RTORRENTkasper

It still works fine for my needs although I know some of the private tracker sites I use ban old versions of torrent clients eventually. And besides, newer is always better right ; D I don't have any experience compiling these modules but I'm willing to give it a go. I'll try to dig up some info but if anyone can share some tips or point to docs to get started that would be appreciated :0)

As a non-linux user, has anyone had a chance to look at updating this? I am still using it daily, and whilst it is great, I am getting strange behaviour on certain trackers (assuming it is to do with out of date rtorrent).
getmythe, I love all of your work, you have really made my N2100 into so much more than just a NAS!

Don't think anyone has gotten around to updating this. Getmythe has dropped development for the n2100, and I couldn't get it to compile when I tried. I have the GPL sources if anyone wants them.
I have the same problem with some trackers not accepting the old version of n2100.
I am trying to get around this problem by setting up a debian chroot and compiling the latest version of rtorrent and running it from there. This is an easier solution for me then working out how to link files for a n2100 module....

Well my fears have become reality, as one of my torrent trackers recently started blocking this version of rtorrent. I'm not a total linux noob so maybe I can muddle my way through an upgrade. If anyone wants to collaborate let me know! Or y'know.. I could scrap this whole thing, buy a mac mini and a firewire 800 raid array and run whatever OS X apps I want. But that's like a $2k alternative ;D

ok well thats my private trackers called time on that version of rtorrent too.
Perhaps wengi could help, he seems reasonable linux literate.
