Yep, I'd leave them but the others are no better. Altering the rtorrent config seems to have made the difference though.

They were really good when it was ntl/telewest but now that the limits are in 4-9pm its a bit of a pain in the backside, but with rtorrent its not too bad. I'm seriously thinking of switching to an adsl provider like o2 because the download rates are good and there are no limits!

If it says something like unknown host then your DNS settings on your thecus are probably incorrect.
I didn't have a DNS address set on the Thecus, strangely this was needed on the previous version of rtorrent. It's working now...sort of.
I cant connect with wtorrent or the java client. logging (as root) in using SSH and running rtorrent in the sessions shows the activity, how ever quitting out of this SOMETIMES causes the rtorrent to quit completely. The only way to prevent this is to close the SSH session without closing rtorrent first.
otherwise it's working really well, love the work.

Im having problems with the wtorrent module becoming unavailable when I restart the N2100 or disable and enable rtorrnet. The only way to get it working is by shutting down the N2100 and booting up again.
So it seems there is something in the shutdown script that is missing from when the server restarts or when the module is disabled/enabled.

I fire up the box go to add a torrent a couple of hours later and it states 'Error: could not connect to rtorrent'. All I can do to fix is uninstall current, restart box, install module again, enable, restart and I'm sorted for a week or so. edit: majority - thanks kindly for the tutorial on getting this working. Sorry for not replying sooner.

From what I can tell when the n2100 is restarted rtorrent isn't stopped correctly causing it not to load correctly when the n2100 next starts up. To work around this you have to shutdown the n2100 and turn it on, so that rtorrent is paused correctly.
Is there a way to run the shutdown script during a restart?

Hi. I've seen new webUI for rtorrent at asus routers forum. It's based on uTorrent webUI. Could you please replace wTorrent with it? here is Russian ver. and translated

firstly, thanks for your thanks dudda . secondly, you are right about the RPC error. Just checked by firing up wtorrent, and as you said it didn't work (unable to connected). Shut my n2100 down, started up again and it worked fine. I haven't tried restarting it, to see if that messes things up. Will do that sooon (after exams, really should be studying right now ) I've tried temporarily setting up the utorrent webui that prusa mentions, and I think it might still be a bit too buggy for it to be worth implementing as part of the module for now. Otherwise it does seem much slicker than wtorrent. back to studying for my exams.

hello again.
so my thecus has been running for a while, and for whatever reason I can still connect to the web interface, both the rtorrent WebUI and wtorrent.
I just noticed the rtorrent WebUI has been updated to version 1.2, and i have to admit it does run quite well. I like it alot better then wtorrent. I don't know if we can convince getmythe to include it over wtorrent in the next update of the rtorrent module.

I stopped module development a couple of months ago. not enough time for all my hobbies. Feel free to do the modifications yourself and send me your updates. Thanks getmythe for this and all of your outstanding contributions!! I just got my 2100 and have been loading up : )
One note on rtorrent, it seems I get "Error: could not connect to rtorrent" in wtorrent unless I enable web disk on port 80 (Network > Service > WebDisk (HTTP) Support > Enable).
Didn't see that listed as a requirement anywhere for RTORRENT so thought I would mention it in case anyone else has the same problem.
You can still connect to wtorrent using https, but my guess is it's expecting rtorrent to be listening on http://127.0.0.1:5000 (or whatever scgi_port is configured to), not https ?
cheers Dave

In case anyone's looking to do the same, I set up the on_finished event to: 1. copy the downloaded files to /raid/iTunes (so I can fix tags, etc) 2. move the downloaded files to /raid/module/rtorrent/finished/ (to continue seeding the original until I feel like stopping & deleting it)
This requires a symbolic link because I think it didn't like copying to a location outside of the module directory:
ln -sf /raid/iTunes /raid/module/rtorrent/iTunes
Then in the rtorrent config file:
on_finished = copy_complete,"execute=cp,-R,$d.get_base_path=,/raid/module/rtorrent/iTunes/ " on_finished = move_complete,"execute=mv,-f,$d.get_base_path=,/raid/module/rtorrent/finished/ ;d.set_directory=/raid/module/rtorrent/finished/"
