In the top section, above the time bar you should see the name of your firefly server followed by it's ip or the domain name. If this is the case FirePlay has properly connected to your server. If not, ...
Please note that FirePlay will only play mp3, nothing else.

I am a bit of a newbie, so maybe being dumb. I downloaded the firefly module, but all that is in the tar file is a 1.25mb file labelled [content]. This doesn't seem to be recognised by the Thecus n2100 module installer. How do I install this module?
Have tried renaming this file with a .mod.
I am working from a windows vista pc and used 7-zip to extract the file if that helps.
Thanks
Andrew

Flash module FirePlay has been updated from v0.55 to v0.68. It has a lot more functionality The link in the first post of this thread has been updated accordingly (FIREFLY 1.2.01).

Hi
i upgraded Firefly to this version on my Thecus, but iTunes doesn't show the artworks now, as it did with the preious versions.
Am i missing some settings? Tried to look up this issue at firefly's forum, but couldn't find anything. All the artworks are correctly embedded in the mp3 files - as I said the previous version of FF showed them.
Any idea?
Thank you.

Firefly does not even know about artwork; iTunes handles everything related to artwork on it's own.

Hi just strange, that with the previous version, there wasn't any problem with artworks. in the meantime i realized some other strange things. i had a few smart playlist, f.e. added last week, and this list stopped working. i checked the timestamps of the files, and: most of the files has time stamp like Dec 20 07, drwxrwx--- 2 baddude smbusers 4096 Mar 4 2007 2004 - Demo 2004.12.18 - Hidasi/ but some files has Dec 17 07:24 like this: drwxrwxrw- 2 baddude smbusers 4096 Dec 17 07:24 2008 - Mumus/ and this file is correctly shows in the least week playlist, i think because of teh 07:24 begins with 07, but others, like Dec 17 08:20 aren't i have no idea, why are some files timestamped different, all of them are uploaded from a windows box through samba. dou you have any idea? .) by the way, is there any way to upgrade the firefly without 'full' reinstall? to keep the previous playlists? thanks for your patient , and your great work

The smart playlists are stored within the database listing all the songs. Since a new release of FireFly may likely change the database format I do delete this file with each new install. It's a known annoyance and a design change is on the todo list of the FireFly authors for a long time.

understand. it is the same, if i do a full rescan? does that purge the database?
and can you tell me, what datetime of the files stored in the db? i tried to repair this, and modify a few files, so the ss shows the ctime, access time, last modification time for today, after this i did a full rescan, but in itunes it still shows a wrong date, a date like august 2007. and i dont know, where it is coming from.
there's something wrong with ls, or busybox, it shows the datetimes wrong, but is seems that the previous version of firefly parses the times from somewhere else, cos the dates were ok with that build in itunes.

A full rescan will not purge the database, e.g. smart playlists should not be touched.
Please note that atime is not used by most linux devices and the n2100 is no exception (performance limiting, therefore switched off). Could it be that the ID3 tag contains some time stamp that Firefly is seeing? Best to ask this question on the FireFly forums.
