just some (tips) bugs to fix : in case of a slimserver :
chroot /raid/slimserver
chown slimserver /var/cache/slimserver/
chown slimserver /etc/slimserver/slimserver.pref
chown slimserver /var/log/slimserver/slimserver.log
and then all works fine. instead of a poor kill  thanks for all...(again) |

Is it a problem that squeezecenter runs with user 101.
Isn't it rather that mDNSResponder is not installed/working?
From serverlog:
[08-02-29 10:49:40.9380] Slim::Networking::mDNS::startAdvertising (110) Error: Couldn't find mDNSResponderPosix binary! Aborting!

I did this:
chroot /raid/slimserver
chown -R squeezecenter /var/lib/squeezecenter/cache
chown -R squeezecenter /etc/squeezecenter
chown -R squeezecenter /var/log/squeezecenter
It makes no difference though. The Transporter cannot connect.

FYI - streaming now works ;D. I played with the settings. The only change I can think of that might have made a difference is the fact that I enabled UPnP on the N2100 box. Anyway, it works now. Hurray!

An improved installer is in META 2.5.01 and squeezecenter has been updated to the final 7.0 release

An improved installer is in META 2.5.01 and squeezecenter has been updated to the final 7.0 release just some (small) bug(s) :
chroot /raid/slimserver
mkdir /var/cache/squeezecenter
chown squeezecenter -R /var/cache/squeezecenter/
chown squeezecenter -R /var/log/squeezecenter/
chown squeezecenter -R /var/lib/squeezecenter/
and then all works fine. instead of a poor kill (with perl error...) thanks for all...(again) |

I'm currently running an older version og META and with slimserver 6.5.
I would now like to upgrade to the newest META version and also SqueezeCenter 7.0.
How do I upgrade. What are the steps. Do I just do a 'disable' and 'uninstall' of the META? And then just install the new META version?
I'm thinking about my slimserver installation. It needs to be uninstalled for the SqueezeCenter 7.0 to work/install right? Or is that totally wrong.

Got it working  - stopped slimserver - renamed the slimserver installation to 'slimserver.backup' - downloaded the SqueezeCenter installation to raid/iTunes - uninstalled old META and installed new META - enabled slimserver startup/shutdown scripts - rebooted SC now works like a charm |
