Status Debian installer?

The message on Martin Michlmayr's site states:

[2007-08-21] The installer is currently broken because of a problem with the kernel update of 4.0r1. This will be fixed soon with 4.0r2. Existing users of Debian on Thecus N2100 are not affected.

Does this mean that it is not recommended to install on new machines yet or
must I retrieve the installer from another source and can I savely install?

I did, here is his answer:

It means that it's not recommended to do an installation right now.
Unfortunately, there's no ETA for 4.0r2 yet but I hope it'll happen soon.

So patience is the message...

I tried it as I was working from a local copy of that page, the install fails as described in the debian-arm list post, I had to restore the original firmware through redboot and a console cable.

Probably mid September we will be able to use the
