Hi Guys, I have a Thecus N2100 with the 2.1.05 firmware. My apologies for being mainly a Windows user and struggling with a lot of the terminology that is being posted but I think what I'm trying to do is pretty simple.. First I downloaded the 3.2.00 SSH module of the Thecus wiki onbeat.dk/thecus/index.php/N2100_Module:_SSH I then go to the add new module section and browse to the file, click install and wait a second the screen refreshes but the module isn't listed. Am I missing something, I have three other modules installed (all deactivated) but this seems to happen for a few and sods law the main one you actually need. Thanks in advance if you can help. Neil

Make sure you upload the .mod file and not anything else. Check that the .mod file is ok by changing the extension from .mod to .tar.gz and open with winzip or something, then rename back to .mod and try again.

Cheers for the reply, that may be it, I unzipped the .tar file and then renamed the underlying file .mod and uploaded that, seems like I just need to to rename the actual file I downloaded. So I'm right in saying that the file www.freeside.ch/thecus/N2100-SSH-3.2.00.tgz should be renamed to .mod and uploaded ? ta.

hm... when i download that file, it gets saved as just .tar by default, this is wrong. rename it to .tar.gz first then use winzip/winrar or whatever and extract the files. find the SSH.mod file, then upload that...

got it working now guys thx, just didn't expect it to be nested in another zip file with no extention you linux guys sure make life for us Windows dummies.
I've updated the wiki with a Q&A as I'm sure this has caught out more than a few people, if it hasn't what the hell.
Thanks again for the prompt help, now I just need to sort out the smb permissions that are screwed up.

Sorry. I hadn't realised that there was a new version.
I'll try and get the windows mirror done and up for everyone.
Edit: Windows zip version is available
