Hello
very new to this thecus NAS unit having mainly upgraded from a cheaper NAS only a few weeks ago
The reason being is the previous NAS, had no hard drive power management and therefore will keep them powered up 24 / 7
This model is a vast improvement but is there anyway i can check that the hard drives are actually going to standby mode when not being used.
The reason i ask is because im currently using a 3rd party RTorrent module that checks online for rss updates regularly, and im assuming it works loaded into ram only with no hard drive activity required (unless its actually downloading of course)
This is fantastic in my situation unless using the module actually keeps the drives powered up.
Have looked through the unit settings and see no indicator for hard drive state other than raid and smart health.
Any help would be appreicated
Thanks in advance

I haven't been able to get a definitive answer to what happens with an Internal and an External Hard Drive when one select "Stand By" - or what happens when we put the computer in the "Hibernate" mode. I want them to stop turning in order to prolong their lives.
