I'm receiving continuous warning sound, and the message: RAID 1 Degraded. When I inspect the system via web administration I see only one disc in each raid array (the unit has two RAID 1 - mirror - arrays with 2.5 inch drives). The two missing drives (drive 1 and 3) were removed temporarily and accidentally left out when rebooted, when this was discovered the machine was switched off and the drives reinstalled and rebooted, but this hasn't corrected the situation. Any advice on how to restore the RAID 1 arrays without loosing data on the remaining drives (drives 2 and 4)? Will it automatically rebuild, or does it need a command to take action?

Okay, I've answered my own questions... (1) Had to go into the administration interface to temporarily switch the audio warning off. (2) Dismounted the two "faulty" drives (1,3) and attached to a PC via external caddy to remove the file system (used gparted partitioning tool), creating blank hard drives. (3) Remounted one drive to rebuild the first mirror array. Waited until completed. (4) Remounted second drive to rebuild the second mirror array. Waiting until completed. (5) Restored beep alarm for future problems. Note: If you ever have this problem - do NOT mount both drives at the same time as the system will treat them as part of the first mirror array - (two drives plus a spare), which is what I discovered on the first attempt before removing, erasing and replacing the "spare" again for the second RAID array. System is now healthy.
