I can't sleep this night and I had an idea: Why don't change the board of the thecus against a new one that is faster and more economical? I think the Thecus board has standard formats for mini itx. So there are some nice boards with more than 4 SATA ports that can be placed in there. I find this one interessting: www.supermicro.com/products/motherboard/ATOM/ICH9/X7SPA.cfm?typ=Hit has enough power for me and enough SATA ports. The only problem (when the measures are ok) are the backside connectors of the mainboard, because they won't fit with the old ones. (My secound problem is that I currently don't have so much money:D ) Is there anything else that could go wrong?
