I have write about me problem here before but I send it to the wishlist to. Me n1050 can't work with my Mac leopard. If someone have a proposal to me how I should get it to work. I be very glad.

Same problem here. Intel macs don't suport the Thecus Nano, nor do PPC macs with Leopard.

I think it's RELY time for Thecus to take action on this!! Nowhere is announced that these devices don't work with Leopard, nor that they don't work with Intel Macs.

Please provide us the new firmware...

Hey there,

I found this forum through the Thecus site i.o. to read or find subjects about the N3200PRO which I just purchased and expect to receive during one of the next days.
The reason why I purchased the NAS is because it seems to have all the hardware and tools I need, even more.
I compared it with Buffalo, QNap and Synology.
With 3 bays it is altogether quite a bit less expensive when also taking into acount the costs of 3 2TB HDD's.
From the market (The Netherlands) it appeared that many companies did not have the NAS in stock and even let me know that there supplier also probably did have little or none in stock .

Anyway I hope I made a good choise and also hope that because of that I will not visiting this usergroup site to often, however.....

I really, really need the eSata or USB connections on the back to work as targets. In other words allow a computer to connect directly to the N7700 by means other than ethernet.

We have 5 different network domains and I need to access the NAS files from computers from different domains, one of which will not allow the NAS to join the network but I could connect via eSata or USB.

I do the same thing with several of our printers, the network interface is on one network while the USB connection is being shared by a host computer on a different network.

I don't want to nag around with comments that this question is off-topic ...

So, up to your question, even if in the wrong place: I doubt that it's possible to access the data on your N7700 via USB and/or eSATA. Look, the NAS itself simply isn't anythin else but a linux based machine. It has USB/eSATA ports for the same reason as any other ordinary computer, that is to connect external devices, especially external harddisks.

What I'll try to say: If you have a desktop computer with USB/eSATA ports you'd never would even try to plug for instance a notebook to these ports in hope to get access to the data of the desktop's harddisks, would you?

IMO, the only access to the data stored on the NAS is via network protocols like Samba/CIFS, SSH, FTP, etc. - that means over ethernet only.

Maybe if you give me details why you have to forbid the network-access from this special domain to your NAS whilst at the same time the access to the data stored is allowed, I might find another solution for your problem. What's actually your aim having such a strange configuration?
