Hi Guys,
I got a new NAS a couple of days ago, setup with 4 ST32000542AS drives... every now and then, i hear a click from the NAS... a quick search found that there is firmware update which has helped as least one person with this problem...
So, how would I go about updating the firmware on 4 drives in a HAS raid 5? am I going to have to take one out at a time, hook it up to a pc, do the update, put it back in the NAS and let the raid rebuild... and repeat for the remaining??? that will surely take a long time???
Thanks, Stuart.

Hi Stuart,
shut the NAS down, then take one harddrive after each other and update the FW on the harddrive. Place the updated harddrive in the same slot back where You have removed it. After all harddrives are updated fire up the NAS. The NAS should then be in normal operation - a harddrive FW update does not touch the data.
