media server (I dont know if other thecus stuff use other media server plug ins, mine is N0204) is really just a very basic thing as it is not really comfortable:
- no schedule or time interval for rescan is editable. So no disk idle is possible even if you are not using it for days. Why rescan if you don't change anything? Stupid.
- no way to sort and organize you files within a folder. Media server itself decides about the order of the files.
- AVI, mpg, MP4, MP2, VOB but no FLV or m2ts or 3GP files are possible.
- M4A (I-tunes) files will not be streamed. Why not?
- some ID tag information like album pictures of mp3 files are not supported.
- files that use ' or ´ or öäü etc will crash. You can upload them but you can't play them or download again. If you rename them, ok.
All in all, like the whole N0204 system: Something is working, but not really good. It seems it was build do support some features to sell the stuff but Thecus seems not interested in having satisfied customers.
