Hi, I have a N4100+. Raid status is "degraded". Yellow (not red) light is on disk no. 2 and steady sound beeping. I replaced disk no. 2 and put in WD10EADS. The brooen one is 750 Gb WD disk.
Status of Raid is still blinking "degraded".
No auto-rebuilding is happening, what can be wrong? I thing the disk is formated ntfs not ext3. Does the Nas drive format the disk when it is rebuilding?

Go to Raid status page and mark the disc as spare disc - then the rebuild should start within short time. The discs are reformatted in any may. br Peter

Done that, reported window says "Raid creation failed". The drive works fine with just 3 disks, read and write. I have not restart the drive since the problem began, just swap disks and nothing else.
If I restart the drive, will I loose all my data?

Then may be the box has a problem with the new disc - can You check the new disc with a Tool provided by WD ? A restart should not destroy Your data. br Peter

Thank you very much for your help Peterfu. It has been stressful time since this problem began and now it a big relief after I reboot the drive. Raid status is "Recovering" and disk info is showing the right name of the new disk. I send a ticket to support center but it takes to long time for them to answer. Thank you again Peterfu.
