I have shut down my N5200 (Not Pro) for just a few minutes this afternoon. Unfortunately I cannot power it again. At first the lights are flashing but cannot boot up. I tried to power it off and reboot several times but the same happened. After a few tries, the N5200 died without any response. Can anyone tell me: 1. Whether I can retrieve all my data if I buy a new N5200 pro, but old one is not pro version. 2. What's wrong with my N5200? Please help as I have almost 2T data there.

If You place Your harddiscs in a new N5200pro Your raid will be detected and Your data should be there. Theres a minimal risc, that due the power failures data are corrupt. If You plan this, then mark Your discs, so tjhat You can put them in the same tray as they have been in Your old box. The Fiormware should be at least the same version as on Your old box or a newer one.
It seems that Your Power Supply died

Thanks for your advice. I have ordered a new N5200 Pro but it will only be available on next Monday. Hope all data be there. By the way: 1. Can I use a more update model to retrieve the data, say N5500 or even higher model. 2. Power failure, does it mean to replace the transformer for my old one, then it will work?

Can I use a more update model to retrieve the data, say N5500 or even higher model. As far as I remember there was one user placing drives from a N5200 to a N7700 and the raid was detected and all data where there - but I can't remember where I have read it. Could only be answered 100% by Thecus staff. I assume that the power supply within Your N5200 is broken. But to be sure You have to check it. If this is the case, then simply replacing it by a new one should help. br Peter

Just come back from a week away, had shut down the dual gigabit n5200 pro via the web interface before I went and left all my equipment switched off, came back and switched the N5200 on and nothing, the power cable is OK, but the unit is dead, now I'm worried about all my data.
Did a google and have also removed the hard drives and it will not power on without them either.
Is this a common fault ? Guess that it is the PSU ?
It is a N5200B Pro v1.00726200 that I have had for about 9 months.
I am assuming that I can get a replacement OK, in the meantime, is there a way I can mount all the drives on a linux box and see the old partition as I have some work to do ?
Any ideas ? Help !
