Hi, all. I have a 5200Pro and I lost AFP support perhaps due to a power failure this morning. Yes, the unit is on a UPS, but it's too complicated to explain, and the unit may have undergone a power stress. However, the RAID came up fine, no rebuild necessary or other problem. All files are intact. The only problem is none of the apple clients can connect by AFP, it hangs after doing a connect to
afp://192.168.0.212 then picking the share and it hangs...
AFP is reported as fine on the Thecus, file system is reported as fine. SMB is working fine from all the clients. We do still need AFP because some apps only recognize files by their resource forks on the Macs. Everything is OS10.4 or 10.5.7. Yes, I checked the Thecus support center and interestingly, it reported that 10.5.2 had some hanging problems when logging into an AFP volume, but the hanging problem is there with all our 10.5.7 clients, and it began this morning. Any ideas? Firmware is 2.00.13, and I'm thinking of upgrading in hopes it will kickstart the Thecus. This is my first post on this forum, previously I disagreeistant handled this chore, but he's left!

I heard from my ex-assistant yesterday and he helped me out of this mess. The solution was to mount the volume via SMB while viewing invisible files (in the Mac Finder or using Terminal) and delete some corrupted invisible (dot) files including, if I recall correctly, .dstore. And now the AFP volume mounts properly and all is well.
