I'd like to replace the fan in my N2100, and I've seen onbeat.dk/thecus/index.php/N2100_Hardware_modifications which lists the Rasurbo 40mm or the silenX iXtrema PRO 40/10mm as adequate replacements. However, it later says that you should use a fan with the same CFM or better - the noisy one which comes with the Thecus has a CFM of 5.7 whereas the other two have 4.7 and 5.0 respectively. With the original fan, my system is currently at 40C (and of course it's winter). Would replacing a CFM 5.7 fan with a 5.0 really be a wise idea? Are there any quiet, higher CFM fans which are still in the 40mm x10mm form factor? I don't mind paying a bit of a premium. Advice very welcome!

Mmm. I'd rather not start drilling into it, to be honest. I might go with an externally mounted 20mm one though, using the same mounting holes. We'll see. It's definitely annoyingly loud at the moment though...
