Hello all,
I am new here and with interest I have read this forum, especially with interest about the Thecus N2100. I own this system more then 2 years, this system always worked and still works flawless!! It a very good money spend especially now u can install modules!!
I always was aware of the possibilities with installing modules, but this week I made the step and tried it. I upgraded the firmware to v2.01.10 and installed a addon module and have to tell u…. it’s wonderful…
Especially now I can run Bittorent client on my Thecus…. Using here Rtorrent in combination with Ntorrent (a GUI java client, what works great to me!), nice piece of written software, ty for that! NOTE: DO replace your standard 128MB memory for a 512MB memory module… there is A LOT OF performance improvement when using Rtorrent, it likes to use a lot of memory (as torrent always does to me).
Load average was 1.8, now it is 0.4 (use command: uptime or top)
Ofcourse the most powerful feature is SSH.
Especially when doing tunneling.
Now my issue here.
I have installed SSH, Version 4.0.00 Release date: 2007-08-02.
Today I connected (from work) to my system (@ home) with SSH and logged of. Later when I connect again, I was getting the following error:
ssh_exchange_identification: Connection closed by remote host
In debug mode it tells that my connection is been accepted.
-bash-3.2$ ssh -v root@x.x.x.x
OpenSSH_4.3p2, OpenSSL 0.9.8b 04 May 2006
debug1: Reading configuration data /etc/ssh/ssh_config
debug1: Applying options for *
debug1: Connecting to x.x.x.x [x.x.x.x] port 22.
debug1: Connection established.
debug1: identity file /home/xxxxxxxx/.ssh/identity type -1
debug1: identity file /home/xxxxxxxx /.ssh/id_rsa type -1
debug1: identity file /home/xxxxxxxx /.ssh/id_dsa type -1
debug1: loaded 3 keys
ssh_exchange_identification: Connection closed by remote host
Now, before I was getting this error, remotely from the WEB GUI I flushed the existing host keys (as described in Security Alert)
See link: www.onbeat.dk/thecus/index.php/N2100_Module:_SSH
Ofcourse now I can't to my Thecus i couldn’t reboot (as described in the Security Alert to do a reboot so it generate new keys), but can it be that I am no more able to connect because I flushed the keys?
It didn't tells that i can't connect nomore... So i wonder if a reboot is needed to connect again?
