I'm running Vista Business x64 SP1 on a 790i setup. I got 2 other PCs (XP Pro) and the N2100 on my LAN. All are gigabit capable except one which is on WiFi DraftN. Now my problem which is not exactly a N2100 prob but I've tried everywhere else, so, here goes... Since installing Vista (earlier XP Pro), I can't access neither the N2100 nor my other PC running XP if I enable jumbo frames on them. Used to work fine when I was on XP. It's not that I really need jumbo frames but I'm one of those who can't sleep if something is not working right . Anybody, help me get some shut eye? Btw, I'm getting read rates of 24/ 25 MBps from the N2100 running WD750s in RAID 1.

Let me see. You have jumbo frames enabled on all devices, correct?
When your machine was XP, with jumbo, all worked well?
If so, check your network card drivers. See if there are newer, non ms drivers, and try installing them.
Also, did you select the frame size to be 4088 on the vista pc? If you try to use 9014 it may not work as it appears that my N2100 only supports 4000/7000.

Yes, everything was working fine on XP x64. That time, I was using 9014 as the frame size. I still am. Enabling jumbo on the Vista machine does nothing. Problem is I can't enable jumbo frames on any other machine. If I do, can't see them in Vista anymore, neither thru my network places nor thru the web interface.
I'm using the nVidia drivers for the ethernet.
Like I said, I don't really need (I do want) jumbo frames as speeds are acceptable to me. I just want to know what the s*** is going on...

Hi,
I belive that the N2100 does not support jumbo frames over 7000. Also if you enable jumbo frames, you need to enable it on all devices, including consoles and routers. Otherwise you may have problems with fragmentation.
Try setting everything back to the default and see if that works.

The network will adjust to the lowest frame size. Like I said, it works great on XP.
I can enable jumbo frames on Vista all right. But if I enable the same on the N2100 and my other rig, I can't access them.
