I just bought the thecuse N2100 last week. I purchased 2 1tb seagate drives and configured raid1. I copied 500gb of data to the thecus, configured users, groups, etc. Then a power outage at my house. Thecus was on a surge protector but no UPS. When power returned, I booted thecus and no raid configuration, it sees drive capacity=0. How can I recover this data? I bought thecus for SECURITY and peace of mind that my data would be secure, now I'm scared data is gone forever! Please help asap!

If I recreate the raid1, will it destroy the data? I am very inexperienced with RAID and do not want to do anything in haste.

Hold off on reconfiguring your raid. I may be wrong, but I believe when RAID configures it reformats.

Yep,
the linksys is not a great choice. I will have to do some comparative shopping to find the right choice. I thought I made the right choice with the Thecus, but did not visit this forum before purchasing. Had no idea that some drives work better than others. Oh well, live and learn.

Yep mine was working until the power outage. Then dead drives. I can mount the drives on my pc but no data is there. looks like thecus coprrupted the drives on the poweroutage.
I have RMA'd the thecus and am switching to an alternative. Found the D-link 343 and am going to try it. I like the idea of raid5 also.
Thanks for all your help. JAB
