I've got the dreaded Raid 1 degraded issue. When I go into the admin raid config screen, Disk 1 is unchecked, so I checked it and tried to rebuild the raid but it's not working. At first it failed at 99.9% (stayed that way for about 12 hours), then the next time at 60+% before retrying again automatically and now the rebuild process seems to fail earlier and earlier. So I've come to the conclusion that this can't be salvaged and I'll replace the bad disk.
Question is, which is the BAD DISK? If I go with the admin raid config screen, it says Disk 1. Would that be the bottom disk in the tray? The SATA connector at the back of the tray marks the bottom disk as SATA1 so I hope this assumption is correct.
Can anyone who's been thru this before please confirm? TIA

I have had this problem before as well. I suggest you install the N2100-SysPerform-1.0.01 module. www.freeside.ch/thecus/index.php?path=n2100/This will allow you to see the SMART info for the disks. You can then see the serial number of the affected disk which should match the label printed on the disk.

Thanks, johnrbaker. Unfortunately my situation has taken a turn for the worse in the last 24 hours as you'll see in the separate thread here (http://thecususergroup.proboards106.com/index.cgi?board=installationissues&action=display&thread=2694).
If you have any suggestions, would really appreciate your feedback. Thanks!
