Anyone ever tried formatting a disk from the eSATA menu?
I had an NTFS external drive that I wanted to use with the N3200. Since it apparently works with FAT32 formatted drives I figured I would just reformat the drive.
As an experiment, I decided to use the "format" option in the N3200's eSATA admin page. It only took about 2 seconds to 'format' but I seemed to be able to be read and write to the drive, so I was coutiously optomistic.
However, as soon as I plugged the drive directly into a windows machine via USB, I could no longer see any data on the drive. It just popped up an message saying that the drive was not formatted and would I like to proceed to format it.
When I checked the drive using disk manager, I found that there were now three partitions on the drive. A 2.4Gb, a 400Mb, and a 463Gb. None of these partions had a recognizable format.
Does anyone know how the N3200 actually formats the disks via the eSATA admin page?
