Hi all :-)
I have just removed the 40mm fan and replaced it with 2 60mm internal fans. One at the same position as the 40mm and one on the side sucking air in (opposite side to ram)
Both fans are connected via a splitter and then to the motherboard header.
I checked my unit yesterday, the fans were nto spinning and the temp was over 63c
The fan rpm reads 22rpm with both fans connected, if i remove one fan it reports 4000rpm and the fan does speed up.
I have tried both versions of fanrpm module and even fanctrl and the rpm initially reported correctly for one fan but now always reports 22rpm or less.
If i de-install fanrpm module and set fan in system to high it still does not run fan at max.
Any ideas?

I have also noticed that my ntorrent module isn't working as it should... the password page does not get removed after i set a password as it should do.
I think I will remove my module database completely and rebuild it, then re-install my modules. Hopefully this will fix the fan issue...

well the fan header wont even power the original fan so i presume that the 2 x 60mm fans have melted something...
I am going to power both fans directly off of the power input jack and run a fan speed reduction in line.

I took 12v from the power header and gd from a leg on the cap that is on the underside of the mainboard connected to the fan header and now the fan runs at full all the time. I left the tac pulse form my fan on the header and rpm reads fine.
I am wondering if the cap on the underside is tailored specifically to the requirements of hte original fan, i have certainly never seen a cap bridge the = and - of a fan header.
anyway I am going to run a rheostat in line with my fans so i can control the speed and have it going out of the wlan hole.
