Drewy - First off, fantastic mod!!! Has anyone got SSL working on the mod at all, if so would they mid explaining how? Edit - I don't know why I bothered to do this but decided to upgrade to 3.1.1.0 and followed your instructions Drewy of waiting 10-20 mins after the download finished (actually waited 30) but after stopping and starting AZUR I get the following message "Disable Module AZUR fail" and can't connect either via AzsMRC or the web interface. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling AZUR a couple of times but hasn't helped. You MUST not update the newest AzsMRC client on the azure module on the NAS.

I'm trying to install iZureus which is an addon to the html webui, but i can't find the user-data directory. I tried installing the folder into /root/.azureus but it did not work. Any help would be appreciated.

You MUST not update the newest AzsMRC client on the azure module on the NAS. Shinger - I have not been trying to update AzsMRC, I have however been trying to update the core to 3.1.1.0, which according to drewy and others has been possible but for some reason when I restart the core I get AZUR failed. Edit: just to be clearer I am still using AzsMRC 0.9.9 and the plugin of the same number. I know that if I try to upgrade it to 1.0.0 then it will not work but this is not what I am trying to do.

I wasn't aware there was a specific client, I'd just been connecting via a browser. Using that client I can make the changes to default download directory, but it comes up with the following error when I try to add a torrent: {lbms.azsmrc : ERROR} Remote Exception: DownloadManager::addDownload: default torrent save directory must be configured I'm getting this same error (in the status bar of the AzSMRC client) when I try to add a torrent via the 0.9.9 AzSMRC client. The default save directory *is* configured and does exist. For example, torrents can be added ok using the WebGUI and they'll show up in that folder (so this seems to be specific to using AzSMRC). Any ideas? oops, solved: I had the "Save .torrent files" option unchecked. It seems like that option shouldn't really be available...

i'm having trouble finding support for the AzSMRC client, so let me ask here:
Anyone know how to disable (auto-skip) the "Send Torrent File(s) to Server" dialog?

The Azureus module appears to run as root - which means the files it writes to the NAS are all owned by root. This prevents my samba users from deleting those files due to permissions.
Is it possible to change the user which the Azureus module runs as?

all modules run as root that's not true. for example, the squeezecenter module was setup nicely where the runtime user/group was assignable. i believe it used sudo to achieve this. i guess i'm asking if anyone has the expertise to mod the Azureus module to use sudo. I believe it's worthwhile since this module, by design, creates files on disk.

ok, I won't argue with that I haven't tried it but if you want to have a play I'd start by looking at the module start up scripts and try adding a sudo before the call to the jvm.

hairyhippy:
I've installed/uninstalled/upgraded the Azur mod dozens of times (actually I'm about to reinstall it again so am reading this forum to get the link haha). I've also received this error when upgrading. I'm pretty sure that the solution was to restart the Thecus; when you reboot, you'll be able to enable/disable the module as normal.
If you find that your Azur isn't upgraded to 3.1.1.0 ('server details' in AzSMRC) then I find that you need to download the upgrade and wait until it actually stops seeding (I think it automatically stops seeding after a certain ratio, wait till then). Once it has finished seeding, leave it for another 10 minutes; then disable the module and leave for a few minutes--then enable the module and check it has upgraded (it's not an exact science, I don't think drewy ever even meant for it to be able to upgrade, so just give it a bit of time between steps).
If you get that error again just restart your Thecus and then disable--leave for a few minutes--enable. Hope that helps.
P.S. Drewy you ought to start a Wiki for your module / or at least separate different problems into different threads? This thread is enormous =)

ya i found it really tough to get started with this module, given this thread, the install instructions on drewy's website (which say you don't need the client to configure folders, but doesn't say how), etc.
it would be great to pull together a fresh set of installation/setup instructions. i would, but i still don't have all the answers...

to be honest I don't actually use this module myself anymore, so I'd sorta hoped it would go away & die But saying that if the general consensus is that something like a faq would help a good number of users out then yes I could (with your help) put something together. Let me know. Any volenteers to help or even suggestions for what should be included would be great. drewy.

I just installed this mod and am having difficulty with getting the torrents to actually download. - Got the mod running and connected to web interface - Got AzSMRC running and connected just fine - In AzSMRC it appears that the default port is 20580. I forwarded that in my router to the thecus - I've got DNS setup. Just to check it, I SSH'ed in and pinged the tracker. No issues there. - I've got the folder created and made sure AzSMRC mapped to the right place to save the files. So I uploaded a torrent via the web interface, it adds a new line item and everything looks good, except that it never connects to the tracker. I never find any peers and the download never goes. Any suggestions about what I'm missing? EDIT: It appears that I can connect to some trackers but not to others. What's odd is that the exact some torrent I open with BitTornado on my local machine fails to ever find the tracker when opened through the Azureus mod. The only thing I can think of is that it's a private tracker and the announce URL has a passkey appended to it. Does anyone know if that will make it fail to connect? www.XXXXXXXX.net/announce.php?passkey=276ad729401ba89792641fc866dafeba

Update: I still can't get downloads to work from a private tracker, though public trackers appear to work. I've tried the following additional steps:
- Upgraded azureus code to a version explicitly permitted by the tracker. - Tried every permutation of the transport encryption settings.
Anyone have additional suggestions of what may be wrong?

Drewy i really dont know how much work it takes to update the current azure module tot the latest version and that the azsmrc client and server could get updated to 1.0
This would maybe fix alot of problems people have. i by example cannot update the version to 4.0 or higher it just doesnt activate it. and i followed your instruction of waiting 10-20 minutes before restarting the module.
Dont think i demand anything because like you and other developers of the modules do that in your free time.
offtopic: could you send me some info about how to learn to develop modules for the thecus 5200. what kind of languages i have to learn or anything.
