On my Windows PC I use an application called DiskState which has a "Dupes" feature to search for and remove duplicate files. Unfortunately, to run a scan on a NAS share the PC seems to basically have to copy the entire share while it generates the MD5 hash for each file which is slow.
If it was possible to have the hash generated on the Thecus using its own CPU rather than having a 3rd party app do it over the network it's be great. I do realise this would require an app on the PC/Mac/whatever in order to pull the hashes down and do the comparison, so this wish is unlikely to be fullfilled, but hey, I can still wish can't I?
My Googling hasn't thrown up anything useful to do this, but if anyone has suggestions I'd be open to them.
Cheers Arctra

Hi Actra,
it is very easy to create the MD5 checksums on the N5200 itself - the md5sum executable is available......
So you only need to find an utility which is able to deal with these MD5 files... like you wrote.
