First up, I know, I should have read things more thoroughly, but there we go....
I'm running firmware 1.00.08, and I tried to install the latest version of PureFTPD (never installed before), and sure enough it came back with the incompatible NAS warning. However, it did send me an email to say it installed correctly, even though it didn't appear in the Module Management section.
I've since downloaded the correct version (2.00.01), but I still get exactly the same warning message.
Any ideas?

Don't feel bad, I did the same thing. I was unable to install the correct version after as well. Fortunately (or unfortunately) I just got my NAS and am having problems with it booting, so I had not put any data on it. After re-creating the raid, the correct module installed fine. I am guessing that part of the new (incorrect) version of pureftpd remains on the drive preventing installation of the older version.

d**n, way to bone my n5200.... Am currently trying to undo the install by reversing / deleting all the line entries shown in the installation email, but for some reason, it's now started appearing in module management even though there's no files left! EDIT: I was being stupid and looking at the FTPAccess module that's working fine. I'll keep people posted with my progress just in case anyone else does the same thing as me! EDIT2: There's a time when you really should just put the keyboard down.... Given that I was looking at FTPAccess, I've actually uninstalled THAT by deleting all its files, STUPID STUPID STUPID. And PureFTP still won't install

Right, I've bitten the bullet and installed v1.00.10 firmware which seems to be working okay, it even let me install the latest PureFTP version.
Unfortunately, I cannot enable it under module management, nor can I uninstall it! Trying either and hitting the button just causes it to refresh the page, no error, no nothing!
Please help!
EDIT: Clicking on the description of the module, shows it as zero size?

Hi, it seems that there is a database problem with the module management section. I had similar effects during developing the PUREFTPD module, which were caused due to a locked database and then incorrect entries. The way to correct it, if You have SSH access to the N5200 is to remove the /raid/data/module/PUREFTPD directory manually and to delete the module out of the database with following commands:
/opt/bin/sqlite /raid/data/module/cfg/module.db "delete from module where name = 'PUREFTPD'" /opt/bin/sqlite /raid/data/module/cfg/module.db "delete from mod where module = 'PUREFTPD'"
It may be necessary also to remove the link to the start script: /raid/data/module/cfg/module.rc/PUREFTPD.rc
and last but not least the backup directory: /raid/data/module/backup/PUREFTPD
After all this all the module information is deleted from the database and system and a new install should be fine without problems.

Many thanks Peter, that's just the job! I'd managed to delete all the relevant files, but I hadn't realised about the SQL.
Much appreciated!
