Hi guys,
Just a short question to this module: Which user does the module use for access the ./raid/data/[share] path?
So I can open this user and set the permission over ACL. Do I?
Greetings

I'd like to help the Firefly module be updated to: 1) provide on-the-fly transcoding of FLAC and OGG files. 2) have better support of DLNA/UPNP AV. 3) get the benefit of all the other develpoment work that has occurred between SVN1498 and the current and hopefully stable nightly (SVN1586?).
The transcoding will require additional libraries to be included in the module build.
If Peter, Omega or others are interested I'd be please to help with testing (N5200, Roku Internet Radio, Netgear EVA8000, MediaGate MG35, iMac and PCs) and to contribute US$50 into the kitty to help get the updated module underway.

Hi Omega,
For 2) nothing special needs to be done. The more recent revisions have had their UPNP AV compatibility improved.
Thanks and cheers

Hi Marc and all others, I've created a new version of FIREFLY 2.00.03. You can get it here: onbeat.dk/thecus/index.php/N5200_Module:_FIREFLYThe new version now uses FireFly version SVN-1586, which is the newest version available at the moment. The main improvement are: * On-the-fly transcoding support for Ogg-Vorbis (.ogg) and FLAC (.flac) files * better support of DLNA/UPNP AV * hopefully some other improvements that I haven't found out yet I've tested the OGG and FLAC transcoding myself and it works for me.... hopefully for you too. Hope you'll enjoy it..... Andreas

I can't get Firefly 2.00.03 to *enable* on my N5200 PRO.
2.00.02 doesn't enable either. 2.00.01 nearly worked (installed and enabled, but I couldn't change the default folder for music in the config); I foolishly decided to upgrade so uninstalled that module, and tried 2.00.02 which of course won't enable... and now I find that reinstalling the older version no longer works (installs and enables but I get nothing on port 3689).
Any ideas how to get one of these things working? I'd love to get this to work.
Cheers

Do you have SSH access to your device?
If yes, try the following command(s) after logging in as user sys:
/raid/data/module/FIREFLY/Shell/module.rc stop /raid/data/module/FIREFLY/Shell/module.rc start
Please check the output of the second command for errors and report them here....

Sorry for my late reply.....
I'm not sure, but can you uninstall the firefly module, then rename the file /raid/data/module/backup/FIREFLY backup-FIREFLY.tar.gz to another name and then install and start the FIREFLY module again?
I fear that the firefly config file has changed and using my backup mechanism the old (and maybe incompatible) config file gets installed again.
Please don't forget that your existing firefly settings are lost by this. But you can copy some of the settings from the old config file to the new config file using a text editor.
Hope this helps. Keep me informed, please.

That worked a treat, thank you Omega you're a gent!
I have got the latest version 2.03 running happily. Just a few things I'd like to point out - I needed to create a public share for the music and I needed to chmod -R 755 the share to get Firefly to scan all the directories and files inside.
