Due to the problem I had with upgrading onto Rel. 2.00.04 (no access onto the setup through http) I tried to upgrade it again but with the USB-Port. To complete my info: The display of the Thecus 5200 Roustor doesn't show any problems. On the display you can see "Start Service" and after this it says "System Ready". From the US-techn.-support I received the following tutorial:
------------------------------------
1. Generally
Usually firmware upgrade issues is an indication of problematic DOM (Disk on Module)
1) Delete unnecessary HBT-Log files on the DOM before firmware upgrade (On front LCD, press ESC + Down Button at the same time, then Enter).
2) Follow PDF instructions to re-flash firmware via USB Flash Memory Disk (Requires FAT32 on USB Flash Disk, Will not work with NTFS)
2. Preparation USB Flash Disk
- Prepare an USB flash disk with FAT partition and the capacity larger than 32 MB.
- Get the following two files from Thecus technical support staff. And then copy them into the USB flash disk.
1) factory_test.sh
2) N5200_N5200PRO_FW_2.00.04.bin
www.thecus.com/Downloads/N5200_N5200PRO_FW_2.00.04.bin
3. Attach the USB Flash Disk
1) Power off the N5200 Pro.
2) Insert the USB flash disk into the NAS and then power on it.
5. Upgrading
LCD will show the upgrade status as the following. The whole process will take about 4~6 minutes.
-> a lot of HHHHH... will be displayed
6. Reset to Factory Default
When the Busy LED stops blinking orange, the NAS will load factory defaults. At this moment, please unplug the USB flash disk.

* users and groups will be erased, but RAID data won’t be affected.
------------------------------------
Unfortanately the Thecus didn't boot from USB-stick.
Therefore my question, how can I force the Thecus 5200 to boot from USB to get the firmware from the stick? But the RAID 5 - structure must not be destroid!![glow=red,2,300][/glow]
