Hi all,
I am waiting quite some time now with adding a 4th disk to my RAID 5 after reading about RAID 5 to RAID 5 migration problems, but I am running out of disk space.
Does anybody know if this problem is solved in FW 2.00.04? Would it be worth upgrading from 2.00.01 before the migration? NB: When I upgraded to 2.00.01, I did not rebuild the RAID. Is there any recommendation to do so? I got confused by some posts saying that this was recommended when upgrading from 1.xx to 2.xx firmware to take full advantage of some features.
And what about modules? Do they work?
Many thanks for your insights - especially since Thecus was not able to put the release notes online this week as they promised in the Hexus board :-(

Yes, it does work. I just did one. RAID 5 (4 drives) to RAID 5 (5 drives). It takes a while though. I don't use any modules though, so I can't answer that.

Just to let you all know that everything went well: I put in a 4th disk, migrated RAID 5 to RAID 5. After migration, the rebuild process started automatically. All in all it took more than 36 hours with my Samsung 500 GB disks (probably around 48 - I did not watch this closely). After that, I had to expand the RAID to make use of the additional space. Do not know how long this took, at least a couple of hours. Modules: all my modules work fine so far. Happy new year! Achim P.S.: Oh, I need to change my signature now
