Hi,
I am trying to upgrade my N5200 from 1.07 to 1.08, but I received an error message after only 1% of completion. In the log there is the error "Upgrade Firmware Fail M[1]..." visible. The system seems to be working still, but now I am hesitating to reboot because it could possibly not come back any more.
Can anyone help me, please?
Arno.

No idea from anybody?
Perhaps I should use the factory_reset.sh method described in one of the other threads? Is this a safe method? I would like to avoid the loss of the backup data, which is stored on the NAS system....

I also had this once and also hesitated to reboot, but it went fine. After the reboot the firmware update went fine.
I'm pretty sure your data will not be at risk if a firmware update fails. You can always put your disks in another N5200 to get to your data.
P.s.:Most of the times I disable modules before updating the firmware, but not sure if it makes any difference.

OK - I tried this and it was successful. Fortunately no need to use the factory_reset.sh method, although the USB-stick was already prepared for this operation...
Thanks!
