As I have understood the email notification will only work on the wan port ....
Since I still don't get it working, I would like to know whether the physical wan port is being meant (I have a Roustor) or not (have ethernet connected to the physical lan ports and did the wan lan exchange, but it is still now working).
Have checked my settings with my ISP and the said the settings should be correct. So I have really no clue what else I could try and since Thecus is taking the issue of email notfication not serious at all, I hope I can get it working with the help of this board.
At the moment I have Firmware version 1.00.11.1 installed.

I have the RouStor as well and also have swapped WAN and LAN. In other words the N5200 is connected through one of the 4 "switch" ports to my DSL router and the rest of my LAN. The single port is unused.
I still have IP sharing enabled, no idea if that makes a difference. I'm currently 400km from home so can't try...

Got it working (wan and lan) with subdomains defined .... apparently Thecus fakes the "send from address" ..... since device name is added to domain name
