Hi Mamat, Omega et Al Last night I upgraded ( attempted ) our N5200 box firmware from 1.000.4 to 1.00.07 and oh woe is me! Descovering Thecus was enjoying a 2 week chinese new year holiday , I resorted to looking up my problem in google and it's will great relief I've found this forum. To get to the point, I've got exactly the same issue as Mamat . With the logs reporting a upgrade C[3] fail after 5%, further upgrades failing. I was then unable to do anything useful via the web interface, and with the file sharing system automatically disabled for the firmware upgrade I was nowhere. I tried a soft , then hard reset.. but the box stops at the self test phase of its startup. I see Mamat has had success with the "factory_test.sh" sent from thecus. Do I take if I put the upgrade binary on a usb stick togeather with this file, insert into the box and reboot it will preform the firmware upgrade and make all my ( Nas related ) problems go away , without loosing my Raid data? That would be bliss... Any help ( and a copy of the "factory_test.sh" ) file would be so much appreciated ! Many thanks. Hi, I also conducted an upgrade from 0.4 to 0.7 it reached 12% and then told me it had completed successfully - a bit odd really I think! As I had received the 'success' message, I conducted a reboot, and can now access without problems. Have just added two new 750GB HDDs to bring it up to 5 (4 + hotspare) , deleted the old raid and kicked off the new raid 5 creation.... I'll be here for a few hours yet, but all seems to be working fine and the firware version listed shows correctly as 0.7 Odd that we seem to be getting varying results with similar kit and upgrade paths? Hope you get there OK, will be watching for the results. Matt.

Just chiming in to say I had exactly the same problem.
I was at version 1.0.1.3 (last year August) and was trying to update to 1.0.0.8.
My array was working fine, and I was planning on adding another drive and wanted to be sure everything was updated first. Good news is that I have two backups. The bad new is that my box doesn't work anymore!
I tried running the update process a dozen times using the firmware posted on the Thecus web site. I then grabbed a second copy right from Thecus and tried again. It didn't work. Eventually I did a reset/shutdown from the Web interface. The box booted up and looked to be normal. However, I can't reach it at either my old IP address or the default IP.
I powered the box down (pressed/held the power button). This time the box powered up normally but reports N/A for both the WAN and LAN settings. When I check them through the LCD interface the WAN report my old settings of 192.168.0.40.
So it sounds like I'm screwed. I will call them later this AM and hope they can share the USB way of getting things going because the WAN sure isn't working now...
(By the way all other indications are OK, and it says the RAID status is OK and the Fan is OK.).
