Hi, I am also having problems using NFS. I entered root@FC4#mount -t nfs 192.168.66.118:/xxxx /mnt/n2100 But the FC4 (Fedora 4) machine replied ... root@FC5#192.168.66.118:/xxxx failed, reason given by server: Permission denied Share folder xxxx is setup as a public folder. What seems to be the problem.

Hi, Mshapf, I tried installing Apache in your Debian (minimal debian arm installation), but I could access the server root after I start up the server. Is there any limitation for that Debian (minimal debian arm installation) on your site? Thanks, MWK

A lot of NAS vendors are designing their chassis with aluminum, and they don't have a fan at all, such as Qnap TS-101 and WD NetCenter. This is good for reducing the noise, since all the noise will be from the HDD. The main draw back (IMHO) is that the case (TS-101) is hot to the touch (around 45 degree Celsius at full speed), and chassis has to stand in a up right position for maximize air flow thru the air duct.
With a bigger fan, the N2100 will sure to quiet down a lot, and the chassis will have to grow in size. I wonder what temperature will be with the stock fan. I have two Hitachi HDS721680, and Web shows 44/42 degrees celsius during standby.

Being a Linux newbie, I was trying to compile the ushare UPnP AV server. I downloaded the debian_arm_minimal_chroot from Mikkel's website, but I could not get libupnp compiled. Don't know if any did it successfully. The last few lines are (cd .libs && rm -f libupnp.la && ln -s ../libupnp.la libupnp.la) make[3]: Leaving directory `/download/libupnp-1.3.1/upnp' make[2]: Leaving directory `/download/libupnp-1.3.1/upnp' make[2]: Entering directory `/download/libupnp-1.3.1' make[2]: Leaving directory `/download/libupnp-1.3.1' make[1]: Leaving directory `/download/libupnp-1.3.1' any suggestions?

I still think the problem could be your 2 750 GB HDD. When you are writing configurations to the N2100, the power consumption will go even higher.
If you try with one HDD and the problem still exists, then the problem is probably from the board.

I still think it is a power related issue. Get an 80W adapter with 12 V output and try it.

From Seagate Barracuda ES 750 GB Disk Detailed SpecificationStartup Current (12VDC +/- 10%) 2.8 amps 2.8 A * 12 V = 33.6 Watt 33.6 Watt x 2 = 67.2 Watt Thecus N2100 power adapter has only Maximum 60 Watt output. I guess the high startup current is reason why the 750GB never was listed in the compatibility list. Suggestion : Find a power adapter with similar output voltage (12V) but with higher current ( >5A) such as this one.

Are you using 750 GB drives? Any problem using the drive? I don't think it is on the supported list.

Does anyone have the experience of using N2100 Y.E.S. box with Microsoft MCE? How do I use the remote control with the contents stored on the Y.E.S. box?
