How do you cross compile for Freescale platform? I am interested in learning more. Could you give some pointers?

I found that Kodak Easyshare EX811 digital photo frame has WiFi and UPnP. Don't know if anyone has this and can verify it is able to display pictures stored on N2100? If it does, then I am definitely going to get one. ;D

It would be great if we can connect a digital picture frame to the USB port or ethernet port of N2100, and display pictures stored in N2100 on the digital picture frame.
I don't know what needs to be done, but I think it will be great way for people to browse their pictures without using a PC.

Maybe you should consider N3200, which has a much bigger fan and metalic (aluminum) case. ;D

What was your temperature before the mod?

I have N5200, but am very unhappy that there is no UpNP Media Server. This is a very serious shorcoming. Twonky sells their media server on their website for 19,95 £á. Would SMB customer pay an extra for a feature they probably never use? I doubt it.

It is not even on the website yet.

... If anyone else has this problem or a clue, please share. My suspicion remains that it is some race conditon on shutdown or startup and that there is nothing really "wrong" just a critical error about a disk's presence. .... Similar things happen on my N2100. Sometimes when I accidentally kicked loose the power plug, and my N2100 will boot up as degraded raid. When I turn off the machine by pressing the power button or Web UI, it never comes up as degraded. Is it caused by not properly unmounting the RAID? How do you normally turn off the N5200?

Blame Thecus for adding a feature that was never in the specifications? Module Blame Thecus for removing a feature that was never in the specifications page? SSHD I am sure they had a reason to remove it. Space constraint on the flash? For the Media Server edition? I don't know. At least Thecus did not try to remove the Module implementation on their firmware. Thecus is trying to get involved with the Open source community such as Debian, which is not seen with any other vendors product except for NSLU2 from Netgear. Any way, I liked the box. It is not the coolest (literally) box I owned, but after a 5 USD mod, it stays cool. Its performance is pretty good (Sisoft Sandra Read / Write over 24 MB/s). I just hope the new Linux kernel 2.6.18 will find it's way into the standard firmware release.

I would sugget Thecus to remove all the veto files in the next firmware release, because these files, such as .AppleDB and .DS_store, are created by Mac, and when Mac user sees these they should know these files were created by Mac.
If you hide these files under SMB, you still see these files in FTP. So, hiding them under SMB does not help FTP.

Hi,
I don't think RAID 1 and JBOD or RAID 1 and RAID 0 are supported simultaneously at all.

Create a nsync folder on your target server. Make sure the N4100 has write access to the nsync folder on the target server.

Change all the share folder to public and reapply your ACL. Don't know if it works, but better than find storage for 500 GB worth of files.

I am interested in learning more about embedded Linux development, and first I would like to learn how to cross compile for N2100. I know I have get the toolchain, but what's the next step? Is there anyone who can write up simple howto for people to follow? Thanks in advance.
