Then your PC cannot go to internet But you are not intended to go internet, then it would be nice, because you can enable jumbo frame on both your PC and N1200, and no need to worry about the MTU size mismatch between J frame and internet pkt.

File system for internal HDD: "reiserfs" and "ext3" Ext 3 has NO problem at eSATA/USB. File size limitation is imposed by the file system, not the N1200. 700MB is not a limitation for the USB or eSATA.
The LAN port (100Mb) has very limited application. It is good for devices that will not go to internet, e.g. networked player. Since WAN and LAN are isolated networks. Of course, both ports can access the HDD.

N1200 cannot detect my SD card reader. No problem for USB HDD and USB flash disk. If SD card reader is not supported, I lost more than 50% of my USBcopy usage. My camera uses SD, not USB flash

You should connect the WAN port to your home network. Any LED lights up at that port ? If your home network at 192.168.1.x segment ?

You may notice that WAN is in 192.168.1.x segment and LAN is in 192.168.2.x segment. Thecus support confirmed that LAN device cannot access WAN device except the gateway. Since N1200 is not an ethernet bridge

I failed to format drive also using a PC with wireless networking. Everything goes fine when I connect my PC to wired network for the N1200 initialization. After that, any wireless connection is normal.

Anybody tried Zyxel DMA-1000 ? I saw this box at a expo, really small and fast GUI, DLNA compliant.

Maybe you are already in correct network topology, just want to double confirm. I meant the control PC should be in wired network. Of course, N1200 has only wired network connection in default. By the way, you must format your HDD during the setup, some vital config files must be put at your HDD 1st for the normal web interface.

I encountered the same thing when my remote PC is wirelessly connected to the network. You may try to connect your N1200 in wired Ethernet network.

I would like to add webcam server to my N1200. N3200 and N1200 are using the same CPU, does anybody know what webcam is using at N3200 ?

Thanks for your input. I will try this evening. (I am @ GMT+8). FYI, N1200 does not support any packet forwarding between the GE and the 100M port. Of course, both ports can access the N1200 itself. When I post this thread, I was expecting extensive modification, just want to get the right direction.

N1200 has a GE (WAN) port and 4 port 100M (LAN) ports. If the N1200 can fragment the jumbo frame to multiple 1.5K packets (compatible with PPPoE), then any PC connects to GE can benefit both high speed N1200 access and retain internet connection.
But jumbo frame fragmentation is not popular topic, cannot find much information at the internet.
