Hi All,
Three quick questions:
1. It just took 2 hours to move 7.4gb of data between two disks of the RAID array internally on the 5200 - that seems incredibly long for two SATA2 drives in the array - any ideas on how to check transfer speeds or if the drives might be incorrectly setup? (I don't recall changing any jumpers on them?) Does this seem long to anyone else?
2. Is there any way to dim or turn off the front LCD?
3. Are there any other power management options that puts the entire SAN to sleep but WOL activity other than simply spinning down disks not in use?
Thanks!

If I copy in my environment a 8GB file from one folder to the other it takes about 50 minutes. If I login to the N5200 via ssh and do a copy of the same file realy locally, then it takes about 9 minutes. I have 5 disks in RAID5 with a Strip Size of 64kb (not optimum for big files), a gigabit LAN and had mounted the folders via Samba on a linux PC. A copy via PC requires that everything is read via LAN to the PC and then written back - so this speed depends also on your network setup. As far as I know theres at the moment no possibility for these two points. br Peter

Thank you!
That would indeed be the problem with the transfer then.
Is there a good wiki on using SSH and the module to use it on the box?
I'm a total Linux newbie...
Thanks again!

The only source for questions about the modules is this forum (as far as I know), all the modules which You need You find here onbeat.dk/thecus/index.php/Main_PageFor logging in the box directly you need 2 modules: SSHD SYSUSER For linux in general there are a lot of sources available, you may check this site: www.linux.org/docs/online_books.htmland google is my best friend If you are a complete newbie I would recommend to install linux on one of your PC's as dual boot (or if You have an old one as only one OS) - I personally use UBUNTU - easy to install as dual boot and very userfriendly (of course thats my personal opinion). It's more safe to do the first linux steps on a non critical and easy to recover box. br Peter

Inside the case i believe there is just a ribbon cable connecting the LCD screen to the motherboard, if you wanted it off, i am sure you could just unplug that cable
