My 5200 crashes randomly on heavy NFS access (Jinzora mediascan). In the log file I see a kernel Ooops crashing the nfsd.
Very strange because I was able to fill the raid with all data by nfs and can access all files by nfs and smb without any problems.

BTW: is there a way to restart nfsd without rebooting?

Hi jake, this is a severe error in the kernel - and no, as the NFS code in the kernel tilt the only chance is a reboot. But at least you should report this error to Thecus, in my opinion they really need to do something here. And you could report this error to the kernel maintainers, see www.kernel.org..... Andreas

Hi Andreas, thanks for your reply. I reported this to Thecus but didn't get a response ... I can return this unit until friday. I really like the 5200 but I dont have a use for a NAS that's not serving my files jake
