Hi All,
So everything is going pretty well so far with the 5200RouStor, but I have a question - it appears that the RAID disks I put in and formatted in the unit are NTFS formatted? Is that correct?
Also, if that's true, are there any defragmenting utilities to use on the disks or is that even necessary?
Thanks!

Hi 1charmedlife,
the filesystem is based on Linux. There is no defragmentation needed.

it appears that the RAID disks I put in and formatted in the unit are NTFS formatted? The disks itself are formatted in a special linux raid format for usage with Software raid - the filesystem (or better the raid array) is formatted in ext3. If You access the filesystem via samba from a windows PC, then the format is displayed on your PC as NTFS. On ext3 there is no need for defragmentation. br Peter

Thank you!!! Seems to be a great box so far (though transfer rates between drives is slower than I thought it would/should be...).
