I have N5300 with 3 320 GB disks, disks 1 & 2 are raid1 with disk 3 as a spare. Is it possible to add two disks as another raid1 to increase capacity ie. md0 and md1?
I know this can be done with Linux software raid, but don't know if it can be wilth the N5200. If it is possible, would like some hints on how to do it.

Hi Art, simple and short answer: no, you can't! The Thecus software supports only one RAID on the N5200. Btw the N5200 is already using a Linux software RAID.... And sure, it is possible to setup another software raid on the N5200 manually, but then I expect a lot of administration problems. For example, when shutting down the device there is a shutdown scripts which cares that the RAID is synced and closed - but only for the first RAID. You would need to chance a lot of scripts..... If you had RAID5, you can double your capacity. However, you'll have to reformat..
Backup your data, add the new drive and you can always have a spare with a small write penalty (very small, it's worth it)...
