Hello,
sorry for asking, but where did you get this firmware if Thecus themselves do not have it on their website?
thanks
Ed

It is on the website but just not officially listed yet... along with the 2.1.03 betas etc... You can see everything here: www.thecus.com/Downloads/

thanks for the response.
I have purchased a 2100 the other day and it came with Firmware 2.1.06. The 2100 has been working since then without problems, therefore it must be a production release and stable enough to hit the stores.

There is no release note for the lastest firmware of the n5200 too (v1.00.10) which is available since the 05/28/2007.
Does Thecus won't post release note anymore ?

I did not install the update but I extracted it and had a quick look at what has changed (using a recursive diff between 2.1.05 and 2.1.06). Looks like there are tons of minor things updated in the php code plus some of the scripts, but nothing important really. The only changes worth mentioning are language pack capability for modules plus command lsscsi. All in all a rather disappointing update. I dont think they fixed the ftp auth bug either, somebody please check.

PS: in case there is some interest; I have simple instructions on how to unpack the firmware upgrade for inspection on Ubuntu (or any other Linux distro)

Did you mean the iSCSI protocol support ? Really interresting, that's a nice feature. I'm going to update my n2100.

iSCSI would have been a major upgrade; but that was not added I'm afraid. It is lsscsi, a command which lists information about SCSI devices in Linux.

The web interface requires less clicking now, thank you.
Also noticed Jumbo Frames go to 7000. Probably there all along but didnt notice until today.
