either way, FTP or by explorer, cable or wifi, i get a maximum of 2MB/s (internal network) setup : Dell XPS1330 with VISTA ULTIMATE Thecus 4100 Linksys wireless router 4x100MB ports
seems awfull slow dont you think?

Anyone have some info on this? i have the same problem i only get 3.75 mb transfer rate. i get over 25mb on my pci raid setup. anyone have any idea what this can be from? i have it set to Jumbo Frame Support 7000. and still it copy's very very slow. some one please help. Thanks

Did you try to connect to the N4100 directly? without the WIFI AP in between? What is the speed of this setup?

Its really slow because the CPU is too d**n slow to keep up with real world network speeds. In other words the gigabit network ports on the unit are a complete waste of time.
Assuming you could actually do it, it'd be like running a Nvidia 8800GTX graphics card in a 386 machine and trying to play the latest and greatest games.
