Right a big thanks goes to both 'getmythe' and 'Trinode' for helping me out. I don't believe it but I have just worked out how to edit the install.rdf file to make the N2100 TWONKYMEDIA module work on my N4100PLUS.
My problem was not using the correct editing software. As I'm on a Windows XP system not linux based, I was using wordpad to edit the file install.rdf. I guess when I resaved it, the wordpad program altered the structure or format of the file. When I repacked the files and loaded the module into the Thecus webpage it was not reading the new information, and so did not work. My answer was to use Frontpage, not sure if there are any better editing programs to use, but that worked in this case.
Those of you who like me, are new to Linux and editing modules for your Thecus N4100+ this is what I did:
Download the N2100 TWONKYMEDIA file from the Thecus Wiki website:
www.onbeat.dk/thecus/index.php/N2100_Module_ListI used WinRAR to unpack this file and you get a file called TWONKYMEDIA.mod
This normally would be the file you would upload into the NAS box to install the module, however it lacks the information required to indentify itself that it works on your brand new N4100PLUS. To do that you need to edit a file called install.rdf in this case.
To edit the file, use WinRAR to unpack the TWONKYMEDIA.mod file, right click here otherwise WMPlayer with try and play it!!
Keep unpacking the folder untill you get to a TWONKYMEDIA folder, within that are a few more folders. Once unpacked, look in the Configure folder to find the file install.rdf Open this using MS Frontpage and edit the last bit to include the line:
<md:NasType>N4100PLUS</md:NasType>
also make sure the NasVersion line is no more than 2.0.00 something I have read thanks to getmythe.
It will all look something like this:
<md:NAS>
<md:TargetNas>Thecus</md:TargetNas>
[glow=red,2,300]<md:NasType>N4100PLUS</NasType>[/glow]
<md:NasType>N2100</NasType>
<md:NasVersion>[glow=red,2,300]2.0.00[/glow]</NasVersion>
</md:Nas>
The glowing items being the ones you have edited. Now save the file and open it again to check it has worked ok.
Now you need to repack the files into the correct format for your Thecus box to install it as a module.
To do this, copy the TWONKYMEDIA folder into one of your created shared folders on you NAS box. The same way you would any file your storing onto your NAS box. You must also install the SSH module onto your NAS box from the Wiki link above. Use a program called Putty on the internet to SSH into your NAS box from your windows machine.
onced you have worked out how to do that, log into the NAS box using putty. once in I found you had to type:
'cd ..'
'cd ..'
That gets you into the correct directory
now type:
'ls'
that will list the directories and files, you need to be able to see the folder you have put the TWONKYMEDIA folder into. Then change directory into that folder.
eg: if the folder was MyFiles type 'cd MyFiles'
eg: if the folder was My Files type 'cd My\ Files'
now type 'ls' just to make sure you have the TWONKMEDIA folder in there.
Now to pack the folder up into a correct structure you need to type in putty:
'tar zcvf TWONKYMEDIA.mod ./TWONKYMEDIA'
The Linux on your NAS bos will do its thing and pack the files correctly. When it's done if you type 'ls' you will see a new file:
TWONKYMEDIA.mod
Now copy that file to your computer and log into your NAS box and find the System/Module Mgmt part of the Webpage.
Upload the new TWONKYMEDIA.mod file into the NAS and hopefully it should work.
My main reason for using this program was I can use it on my PS3 as a server for music, pics and video. Also provided the Album art is embeded within the MP3 you get that displayed which many users complain does not work. It certainly does not work with the Mediabolic or UShare media servers.
Hope that helps someone, may save you some time. It may of course be something else that may make the Module not work, but if it's only the inclusion of the NAS type, you maybe able to get other modules to work on your system, if they are available on the others. However, I guess its not guarenteed.

Many thanks again to getmythe Trinode for all the help they have given me recently, it is very much appreciated.
