Hi All,
I have a 4100 - firmware version 1.3.04 that I can't talk to. I can ping it from my PC but when I try to map a drive [net use * \\<ip_address>\stuff /user:admin] I get the following error message after entering the password for admin "System error 1231 has occurred. The network location cannot be reached. For information about network troubleshooting see Windows help" I can'tc onnect using Map Network Drive from the Explorer toolbar either, just keep getting a Username/Password dialog that - no matter what I type in - keeps popping back.
BTW: I just have the NAS connected to my PC via a network cable, no switch, hub, router or anything. I'm not using DHCP, I have static IPs and I'm not using ADS or WINS.
What should I be checking on the PC and the NAS, your suggestions would be most welcome.
Many thanks,
Lonelymile

Hi lonelymile, welcome to the forum.... Try another user, not admin. If you don't have another one, just create one and add him to the ACL. Another hint: the Thecus software might still has problems with special chars in passwords. For testing use a simple one. Andreas
