Bought a 5200BR Pro, added five drives, created a RAID5 array (took 33+ hours), upon completion could not add files to the NAS. So started tweaking settings and after a reboot (to get AFP going) the unit is now unable to access the web GUI.
Neither 192.168.1.100 or 192.168.2.254 are reachable via http, the same being true using a dynamic IP, https returns an error about unknown protocol, ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH.
I can ping the NAS without issue, the setup wizard sees it, but there’s no joy with the Web UI.
I have tried and retried the following:
Reset button at boot
Changing from static IP to DHCP (and the reverse)
Attempted to connect via four different browsers (Brave, Opera, Safari, Firefox)
UPDATE: Safari pointed me in the right direction, changing system time, after being able to view the certificate. It would not, however, allow me to connect. Firefox, on the other hand, after much complaining DID allow me to connect, but then I seemed stuck at the fsck page (I remember now, that after ticking AFP, I thought the file system check would be a good idea). On this page the only options are File System Check & Reboot. Trying the first, it just seemed to be looping, so I hit Stop several times and it finally did. Then I tried Reboot and ... up pops the login page! w00t!! However, this presents another problem...how can I get an updated cert onboard, so I can use any browser, and not be locked into FF?
Tried (successfully):
Reset my computer clock to 2015
Connected via https via Firefox
While I can do a full factory reset now thru the UI, at this point (after reading about Web Disk funnies) I checked that and saw it was disabled, so I reenabled it and can now connect via http. But I'd really prefer to access the device via https, using a Chromium browser. Is that doable, or am I sh*t outta luck?
Thanks for your time.
