NOFLASH is short for 'no more flash' this has been bothering me long enough, it was time to take drastic measures! After installation you now have the option to enable/disable the flashy stuff. www.freeside.ch/thecus/NOFLASH.mod.tgzDownload, gunzip, untar, install file NOFLASH.mod and enable it, done! enjoy

How did the module do it? by removing the files?

what does the module do?
- copy replacement html code plus images into webserver space - relink both index.html files to point to the flashless pages
Since the web pages are located in RAM these changes need to be re-applied on each boot, e.g. they are not permanent.

nice work - will have to try this once I have upgraded my thecus to the latest firmware. (is it firmware independent - at least for all the current versions?)
It is the one thing that Thecus have not fixed so far - the firmware updates have been excellent but the default admin page is poor.

just uploaded a new revision containing some improvement - added code for IE to properly handle transparent png
- added mirror images for buttons (same as orignal)
- added (english only) tooltips
before installing the new version, please uninstall the old one first! www.freeside.ch/thecus/NOFLASH.mod.tgzDownload, gunzip, untar, install file FANRPM.mod and enable it, done!

Getmythe, I've received feedback that your modules (NOFLASH and FANRPM) does not install on firmware 2.1.01.. What version are you running? Have you heard anything about the modules not working on 2.1.01 ?
Mshapf.

No problems with 2.1.01 at all!
My guess: They forgot to first unpack the files (gunzip, untar). The file to be installed always has the extension .mod. If it does not, it's not the correct file and installation will fail.
PS: You've got PM

I tried it too and it didn't seem to work - extracted to the .mod stage, selected and then pressed install and it didn't show up? (latest firmware)

I repackaged my modules as per mshapf's instructions. I hope this helps. If not you may try to debug your module installations with the help of SSH, e.g. login into your box and type:
ls -l /raid/module ls -l /raid/module/cfg/module.rc
the fist command should give you the names of the modules (plus cfg), the second one should give you again those names (enable/disable scripts of modules).
sample output:
thecusblack:~# ls -l /raid/module drwxr-xr-x 4 root root 4096 Oct 7 21:06 FANRPM/ drwxr-xr-x 4 root root 4096 Oct 7 21:03 NOFLASH/ drwxr-xr-x 4 root root 4096 Sep 25 18:38 ROOTPSW/ drwxr-xr-x 4 root root 4096 Sep 25 18:38 SSH/ drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 Oct 7 21:06 cfg/
thecusblack:~# ls -l /raid/module/cfg/module.rc -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 719 Oct 7 21:06 FANRPM.rc* -rwx------ 1 root root 1303 Oct 7 21:03 NOFLASH.rc* -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 436 Sep 25 18:38 ROOTPSW.rc* -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 588 Sep 25 18:38 SSH.rc*
In case a module is missing from your directory list the installer has refused to install it.
