Hello, I'm having a hard time figuring out how to set the WAN IP, and LAN IP of my Thecus.
Here's my network:
1. DSL Modem/router. WAN IP is 65.168.72.X. LAN IP is 192.168.1.254
2. DDWRT Router. WAN IP is 65.168.72.X. Gateway 192.168.1.254. LAN IP is 192.168.2.1.
3. Then I've got all my computers...laptops, desktops...and they all work fine...EXCEPT for my Thecus NAS...
First, I did the DHCP option. The DDWRT router assigned it a WAN IP of 192.168.2.145 AND a LAN IP of 192.168.2.145, and a gateway of 192.168.2.1.
With those settings it is unaccessible and unpingable from any workstation. I also an not browse to it's web admin gui.
Then I set the WAN IP to 192.168.2.1... and kept the LAN IP at 192.168.2.145.
Under this siituation all computers can see it on the netowrk perfectly and we can share files. But the problem is...it's WAN IP is the SAME as the Routers LAN IP.
So some workstations try to use it as an internet gateway instead of the router, and some use the router as the gateway and get internet access... it seems the WAN IP of the 5200 and the LAN IP of the DDWRT router are the same, and this is causing internet connection problems.
My question is...what should I set the WAN IP, GATEWAY IP, and LAN IP of the Thecus box?
This is a very simple network, but I can't figure out what to set the IPs for the box...
Let me know.
Thanks,
Dan

disconnect one of the thecus's lan connections, doesn't matter which one. They are labelled WAN\LAN but essentially they both do the same thing. Then either re-boot it and let it grab via dhcp again or set it manually.
I think your manual settings should have been fine if you just unplugged the WAN cable.
