Hi all,
Does anybody have any experience creating accounts on the N5200 and enabling access via ssh keys? I'm attempting to put together a module to support Amanda backup and it looks like the only authentication method that will work with the N5200 is ssh. It requires setting up a shared key from the Amanda server to log into an account called amandabackup on the client.
I'm familiar with creating ssh keys, the permissions needed for them to work, etc. I've created an amandabackup account on my N5200 and can su to it, but no matter what I try I can't ssh into the account using an ssh key. Any thoughts on this matter?

You have to modify the /etc/passwd file manually, cause all users are created without a valid home dir and without a valid shell. Logging in via ssh without a valid shell causes the login to fail. br peter

Peter,
As I said in my initial post I've created an account that I can su to. So I've already manually modified /etc/passwd and specified a login shell for the account. It's only when I try to log in via ssh using a key to avoid the password prompt that I'm having problems with. I ran ssh-keygen on my linux server, copied the key over to ~/.ssh/authorized_keys (for an rsa key test) and ~/.ssh/authorized_keys2 (for a dsa key test) and verified that the permissions of both those files and ~/.ssh were set properly. And yet I'm still unable to log in using the ssh key.

You have to copy Your key files to another place - here the relevant text from the thecus wiki pages of the SSHD module:
