Has anyone seen any info on when Thecus might update the firmware to support Win 7? It probably works with regular shares, however AD authentication is broken. It will sync, but auth has changed in Win7 so I'm anxious to hear if anyone has heard anything.
Thanks!

I can confirm that regular SMB shares are working fine with the win7 RC. I have not tested AD.

From the horse's mouth: ------------------------------------------------------------------------- It is unlikely for us to perform any updating that is specific for Windows 7, at least not until Windows 7 has been released. Figured this out. Looks like windows 7 ships with some restrictive local policies set. This can be resolved by using the following steps:
* On the windows 7 system, go into the "administrative tools" control panel * From here, open "local security policy" * Go to "local policies" > "security options" * Set "Network Security: LAN Manager authentication level" to "Send LM & NTLM - use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated" * Set "Network Security: Minimum session security for NTLM SSP based (including secure RPC) clients", uncheck "Require 128-bit encryption" * Set "Network Security: Minimum session security for NTLM SSP based (including secure RPC) servers", uncheck "Require 128-bit encryption"

Hey sorry to bump an answered thread with a stupid question, but...
What sort of Windows 7 support do you mean? My samba shares work fine in Windows 7 Pro as they did with the release client? Is there a (faster) alternative or extra features that are available with that fix(?) in the post above?
Thanks.

Yes, this was just to get the thecus samba shares working with windows 7 in the first place. These changes were necessary, based off of the settings our windows 7 boxes defaulted to. It's possible that other win 7 installs defaulted to the options above and that it just worked right off the bat for some users.
