Hi everyone.
You may have seen some of my posts in the past asking about the possibility of alternative bittorrent clients for the N5200. In this thread I'm going to report on how I go with installing TorrentFlux-b4rt on the N5200 and hopefully some other people will find some interest in it and share their experiences.
Currently there are two working bittorrent modules for the N5200: Drewy's Azurues Module and the MLdonkey module. Each have their own limitations; the most frustrating of which is that neither Azureus nor MLdonkey are fully supported by the best private trackers.
There is an rtorrent module for the N2100, and though rtorrent seems to be supported almost everywhere, I have yet been able to find clear instructions on how to make this work on the N5200.
So, I have been looking for alternatives..
TorrentFlux-b4rt is the client that most seedbox hosts use, so it seemed the obvious choice. This client allows you to choose between BitTornado, Transmission, Azurues or Mainline to download torrent files and is designed specifically for multiple remote users.
The requirements for this client are as follows:
- MySQL
- PHP
- Python
- Perl
- A webserver
I will be the first to admit that I am a total n00b when it comes to setting up webservers, let alone on a linux box. Nevertheless, in my desperation to have a working bittorrent client with remote access, I will detail my trials and tribulations in this thread. If anyone with any insight into these sorts of things could shed light on my fumblings, that would be much appreciated.
Here goes...
