Hello,
I didn't see another post about exactly what I would like to do.
I have a N5200-PRO and when I make the iSCSI space, I am limited to 5% of my total array space. I would like to use like 30-50% of my array for iSCSI.
When I make the targets, I can make 1 target at 5%, or 5 targets at 1%, or any variation as long as the total is 5% which I cannot seem to exceed.
I have 5 Seagate NS750GB SATA drives in RAID-5 for a total of 3TB, formatted it is about 2600GB.
Thanks in advance, I read the limited DOCs and read the 18 pages of threads in the Mods forum, nothing exactly like what I wanted. I did read the post on how to make a 6th or greater targets, but I really want to make some 300GB targets, and if I make 1 target at 5% I get about 130GB. I did consider doing the mod to make more targets @ 130GB, but again I would only have 130GB instead of 300GB.
I have the SSH mod installed and working, I can SSH into the box as SYS, and I have some Linux expereince.
David

Hi David, How much data do you really have in your RAID (please don't answer 95% )? You may have to rebuild your RAID to get what you need: 1. Backup your files (from the data volume and the current iscsi content as-well) 2. Remove the RAID 3. Recreate the RAID with : 'DATA' set to 50%-70% of the RAID space. That will give you 50%-30% space available for the iSCSI. 4. Restore your files. Ed. PS: No need to send the same post in several locations. Add a comment to your post or update it.
