How do I map the root of the N4100pro?
I have created a "Media" folder and have ALC rights for that folder and have mapped that to my windows network.
How do I map the whole drive?
Cheers

Hi, Why would you share the root folder ? If you want to access the root folder, try WinSCP with sftp protocol. It is not recommended to share you root. It "is not possible to share" the root folder Ed

It's possible!I have an thecus 4100+ with BIOS 2.00.05 but i don't know if it works for 4100 Pro too! Modules onbeat.dk/thecus/index.php/N4100plus_Module_ListWinSCP winscp.net/eng/download.php1. Install SSH 2. Enable SSH 3. Confige SSH 4. Install WinSCP 5. Connect to thecus via WinSCP 6. Edit /app/etc/samba/smb.conf7. Insert additional Section --> see Code 7. Restart Samba OR Thecus 8. Access via \\n4100plus\root [Root] comment = RAID-Root browseable = no guest only = yes path = /raid/ftproot map acl inherit = yes inherit acls = yes read only = no create mask = 0777 force create mode = 0000 inherit permissions = Yes map archive = yes map hidden = no #recursive = yes
Edit thecus system files on your own risk, be carrfully![/color] I used it only on my private Network, so don't forget your Security Risk if you share your whole Root!
I liked to access the root, because i want to scan the whole Tree via Windows Explorer or TreeSize! www.jam-software.de/freeware

Hi ! Humm... What do you mean by "root" ? 'cause I don't think the previous answer will help you see anything you never seen on "the whole drive" Ed Explanation:The Section within samba.conf define the additional Share in this case the Share would be root you can it also change to [Suprise] Then you must access the Share with \\thecus\Suprise Define the Folder you want to share with path=\raid\ftprootyou can also share other folders like \raid or only \I hope its clear what i mean!
